2. Osteopathy: Periformis Syndrome

Piriformis syndrome is a condition in which the piriformis muscle, located in the buttock region, spasms and causes buttock pain. The piriformis muscle can also irritate the nearby sciatic nerve and cause pain, numbness and tingling along the back of the leg and into the foot (similar to sciatic pain).

Cause : The Spoas

As the spoas muscle gets imbalanced it creates a seemingly 'one leg shorter' by tension than the periformis also under tension as a result puts pressure on the sciatic nerve and gives typically a pain in the buttock ☺

Solution: Osteopathy

3. Alert: Nail polish not so innocent

One of the chemicals present in nail polish is an endocrine1 disruptor. Triphenyl phosphate (TPhP) is the chemical compound with the formula OP(OC6 H5)3. This colourless solid is the ester2 (triester) of phosphoric acid and pheno. It is used as a plasticizer and a fire retardant in a wide variety of settings and products.

Danger: The news broke recently that nail polish can harm your health (again!). This time, it's triphenyl phosphate, a chemical used in nail polish to increase flexibility. It's a potential endocrine disruptor (“it could make you fat!”), and was found to be increased around seven-fold.

The increase of Endocrine Disruptor (chemical, plastic, cosmetic). Could it be? That in pregnant women triphenyl phosphate could be a contributing factor to hypospadias???? Would you take a chance?

  1. The endocrine system is a network of glands that produce and release hormones that help control many important body functions, including the body's ability to change calories into energy that powers cells and organs. The endocrine system influences how your heart beats, how your bones and tissues grow, even your ability to make a baby. It plays a vital role in whether or not you develop diabetes, thyroid disease, growth disorders, sexual dysfunction, and a host of other hormone-related disorders.
  2. A very special class of esters are the esters which are formed by the reaction of fatty acids with glycerol, which has three alcohol groups. Glycerol is also called 1,2,3-propantriol. These are called triesters or triglycerides.

There is an increase of baby malformation in France. See next article.

4. Hypospadias [hype-oh-spay-dee-us]

Hypospadias is a birth defect in boys in which the opening of the urethra is not located at the tip of the penis.

In boys with hypospadias, the urethra forms abnormally during weeks 8–14 of pregnancy. The abnormal opening can form anywhere from just below the end of the penis to the scrotum.

There are different degrees of hypospadias; some can be minor and some more severe.

5. Auricular Therapy and Medicine

I am also opening a chapter on Auricular Therapy and Medicine.

To start off we have to understand the form of the ear. It looks complex, isn’t it?

Auriculo-therapy (French), also known as ear acupuncture, is a medical technique that was discovered and developed (1951) by Dr. Paul NOGIER (1908-1996).

The originality of the conception of Dr Paul NOGIER is based on the fact that he considered that the diseases can be treated and cured by using physical approach.

The foetal image in utero. Please reflect and use your imagination. [See right]

In a simplistic explanation, two ears, two sides of the brain, a stimulation on the ear by means of needling, laser will result as referral to the periphery (body, organ, etc) as physiological message of rectification.

As a measure of rectification, and lets “give back to César what belong to César”

Auricular Therapy Medicine is Not Chinese. Yes, it is French.

I was honored and privileged to have been a student of Dr Paul Nogier in 1980-1981. I also was privileged in 1996 to go to his house and pay my respects by my last visit to Dr Paul, my Mentor.

NAKAJIMA, general director of the WHO (World Health Organization), encouraged the medical doctors to use Auricular Therapy in their medical practice.

This meeting that was held up in the splendid locations of the town hall of Lyon was the beginning of the recognition of the technique discovered by Paul NOGIER.
